Today’s post is about two things (of many) I’ve been eagerly anticipating for the last year: Pok Pok chicken wings in NYC and a new Beach House release. Pok Pok came first. After it opened in the Lower East Side in the old Baohaus location, I knew I had to try. Dining at Pok Pok in Portland a few years back, I was impressed…and surprised. Good Asian food is a rarity in Oregon, but Pok Pok executed those familiar flavors pretty well. It’s all about the wings—sweet, salty, garlicky—hitting every spot with its tongue-coating fish-sauce marinade.
Lunch pairing - Excited for the release of Beach House - “Myth” and it’s got me wanting more. Hopefully the full album will be released before their Central Park Summerstage show.
